Series I: Objects -
Materials related to photography, installation, and research of loan objects. Includes correspondence, preliminary object descriptions and references.
Series II : Exhibition Planning -
Materials related to the planning of the exhibition including funding materials, preliminary designs, exhibition proposals, public programs materials, and meeting notes.
Series III: Interpretation -
Interpretative material created for the exhibition, including gallery guides, exhibition programs, wall text and labels.
Series IV: Press and Publicity -
Press, publicity, and promotional materials. Includes reviews, exhibition photography, invitations, and press releases. Also includes material related to a documentary focused on Marimekko produced after the exhibition.
Series V: Research -
Research files on the subjects explored in the exhibition.

Exhibition History
Marimekko: Fabrics, Fashion, Architecture (November 21, 2003 – February 15, 2004) was curated by Marianne Aav.
The exhibition examined the history of the Finnish company through periods of international success in the 1960s and mid-1970s, into the early 2000s. The primary lender to was The Finnish Museum of Art and Design in Helsinki, with additional objects from private and public collections.

Records of the 2003 Bard Graduate Center exhibition Marimekko: Fabrics, Fashion, Architecture, curated by Marianne Av. The files document the development, coordination, research, loan objects, and interpretive content of the exhibition and its accompanying catalogue.
Arrangement
The collection has been arranged into eight series. Within each series, original order of files has been maintained, except instances where they were consolidated and interfiled from multiple locations.
