Series I: Objects -
Materials related to the selection, research, and handling of loan objects. Includes communications on sourcing objects, preliminary object descriptions and references.
Series II: Correspondence -
A collection of correspondence between BGC staff, lenders, and the guest curator Oppi Untracht. These correspondences include exhibition planning and object selection. See series I for more information on object selection.
Series III: Interpretation -
This series contains interpretative material created for the exhibition. Includes drafts of exhibition catalog, exhibition programs, wall text and labels.

Exhibition History
India: A Jewelry Spectrum (October 8, 1998–January 31, 1999) was the first comprehensive exhibition in New York devoted exclusively to the jewelry of India, and was curated by Indian jewelry expert, Oppi Untracht. The objects selected demonstrated a wide range of traditional Indian jewelry representing the diverse and complex society from which it derives.

Abstract
Records of the 1998 Bard Graduate Center exhibition India: A Jewelry Spectrum curated by Oppi Untracht. The files document the development, coordination, research prior to the exhibition, the sourcing of loan objects, and interpretive content of the exhibition.
Arrangement
The collection has been arranged into three series. Within each series, original order of files has been maintained, except instances where they were consolidated and interfiled from multiple locations.
